KL was very interesting but i wanna go home …

First quick impressions of KL

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

1. Kuala Lumpur’s airport is waaaay nicer than Taipei’s airport
2. Despite the expected storms, the weather is hot and humid but bearable so far
3. The hotel is not great but the people seem very nice
4. White people are definitely minority here
5. KL’s downtown is a construction zone - obviously the economy is doing better here
6. KL’s downtown is a skyscraper jungle
7. Malaysia is doing better than Bulgaria
8. They just banned yoga because it’s spoiling the faith, and are thinking of prohibiting women to wear pants / men’s clothing because it provokes lesbianism
9. 90% of the people in the pool are with clothes
10. We’re still getting used to seeing Asian looking women wearing head scarves.

reality check

Looking at the forecast for the next week in Kuala Lumpur:

High: 31°C
RealFeel®: 46°C
Humidity: 94%
Considerable cloudiness with rain, wind and a thunderstorm or two

Next time we decide to go to the end (or the center) of the world, we better check the weather pattern before we book the trip … or someone please put some sense into our minds before it is too late :-)
Gotta start packing tonight … we’re leaving tomorrow night and with or without rain, doing nothing sounds GREAT! :)

Ok, perhaps I am exaggerating, but this came in a bad moment - I was so looking forward to go over the latest Business Week issue on Sunday morning !

If Obama’s presidency is half as good as his marketing campaign, he /they might even be able to sort out the economic mess.

… destroying the house, trying to mount the projector on the ceiling, you can only enjoy a margarita (or two) after you’ve improved your Wii score :-)
