White Christmas!

Friday, December 26th, 2008

We’re celebrating Christmas in Portland this year. It is a white fairy tale outside (when it’s not raining) and it is nice to spend time with the family. Everything would have been perfect if we were both not sick - Petar even lost his voice yesterday and he is only whispering today. He says he feels very helpless!

Merry Christmas and be healthy everyone!

White Party

Friday, June 13th, 2008

We’re celebrating Friday the 13th by attending the annual White Party at Ruby Skye in San Francisco. I’ve heard that it’s a lot of fun and it’s been sold out so it must be good. Since it’s Friday and we’ll be working today, we decided to convert the event into a weekend in SF and we’ll spend the night there because no one wants to be the DD and skip the drinks :) and it’s dangerous to drive 50 miles when you’re tired. We keep discussing that but I think it’s time that we establish a new monthly tradition to spend a weekend in the city. There are still so many neighborhoods that I haven’t explored that it’s a shame - it’s so close and yet we manage to go up there only when someone visits us or for special events. Hopefully, the summer hasn’t come to SF yet … otherwise it’ll be one very chilly Saturday :)

On Saturday we celebrated my birthday with an overnight stay in San Francisco. My mom has always told me the story that on the day I was born, it was a nice sunny outside and she was taking a long walk with my uncle when I decided that it’s time for me to be introduced to the world. Later on, I read somewhere that my mom has not lied to me and this day still holds the record for the warmest day since they started measuring the temperatures. 19 degrees Celsius in February is pretty amazing for Bulgaria. And these were the times before the Global Warming. Anyways, I wish we had 19 degrees on Saturday. It was raining cats and dogs here in the Bay Area. Thankfully, there were no accidents on the highway but no one warned me that the big parade for the Chinese New Year is held on the same day and the whole city center will be cut off. Somehow we managed to get to the hotel before our guests. We asked everyone to come earlier for some drinks and finger food before we all go together to the club. Luckily, the hotel Petar scored on Priceline was just around the corner from Slide - the club where we were going.
We were psyched that we’re gonna have difficulties getting in but we were lucky and they let us all in, even with one ID shown twice. Everyone seemed to have fun, we took a lot of pictures and all in all the event was fun … until they decided to take our half full bottle of vodka away and the drinks out of our hands! We were still outraged the next day when some of us who spent the night in SF had brunch at the Crepe House on Post and Taylor. I love that about SF - there are so many places where you can go on the weekend and get tasty brunch food, and then stroll on the streets and enjoy the atmosphere of the city. It was a great weekend in San Fran - I look forward to my next trip to SF with Sia & Nedi who will be here in less than 2 weeks!
Last but not least and in the spirit of the Academy Awards, the Oscar goes to my husband who took care of everything (although he doesn’t remember some moments of the night in detail:). Thanks to everyone who showed up and made the experience unforgettable!

You have no idea !

I have been with Adobe for three weeks now. The company used a tagline “Better by Adobe” -and I can tell you - this is true! I am working with a great team, and just attended the 2007 Sales and Marketing Conference. It was to exciting to listen about the new plans for growth, as well as see demonstrations of the the vast majority of creative and enterprise software products that Adobe has!

It seems like I have joined the company at the perfect time as the new initiatives are centered about making the web the center hub of communication with the customers and we hear all executives from the new CEO Shantanu Narayen, to Ann Lewnes, and our VP Andy Young focus on delivering personalized and engaging messaging on adobe.com and make that interaction with Adobe customers consistent across all communication channels - support, store, relationship management, user experience, etc.

Tonight we are going to the 25 Anniversary celebration of Adobe.

Happy Birthday, Adobe!

Purrrrr-fect Valentine’s day, everyone!!

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

I did not get any Valentine’s cards today or any special treatment but I sure love ya all! The weather is great, the squirrels are not that nasty today and I get to spend a lot more time on the balcony now that my uncle Ivan is visiting us. [Thank you for smoking :-)]

Have a wonderful day/evening & let every day be a Valentine’s day for you and your loved ones! Cheers!

New Car !

Friday, January 26th, 2007

Svetla and I just bought a new 2007 Toyota Prius ! We’re very happy with the car - the actual gas consumption is about 42 MPG (combined city and highway driving). We went to Toyota Sunnyvale with our downstairs neighbor Jason Molenda and picked two red Toyotas - it was so much fun !! See some pictures from the happy event on Jason’s site.
